Definitions

Battery

A battery (or accumulator) is a source of electrical energy generated by direct conversion of chemical energy, which consists of one or more of:

  • primary non-rechargable battery cell or
  • secondary battery cell ​suitable for recharging

Industrial battery - dedicated for industrial use or in electric vehicles, described in appendix no 1 to the act.

Portable battery - dedicated for use in mobile phones, computers, portable electrotools, toys and household products, described in appendix no 2 to the act.

Entity introducing batteries

Introduction of batteries (accumulators) to the market is by definition:

  • Production, import or making intra-Community acquisition of batteries or products containing batteries, for resale or other form of putting on the territory of the country
  • Importing or making intra-Community acquisition of batteries or products containing batteries, for the purpose of business activity
